For the most part, we're out of the game, you know. By now, you've all seen the Zac Efron's Pool Party video on FunnyorDie.com, but in case you haven't... see under the cut.( Anyone have a tequila and Snapple? )
There's a few golden moments, not least of which when lonelygirl doubtfully inquires if Nicole Sullivan's Randi (with an "i") gets internet where she's from.  But there was one moment that led me to guffaw aloud and cheer a little bit.  I think you know the one.



There it is!  The look we always knew The Hudge would patent, given her own cop show and good cop/bad cop routine with Tizz!  The hostile look of superior disdain and barely contained disgust lives! And that speculative little eyebrow raise right after? Yes!

Could have done without her shrill screech about poop to her "Babe" at the end, but otherwise... well-played, Hudge.  True that you continue to coast along on Zac's coattails, but you may as well enjoy the ride, eh?</div>

Thanks for commenting on the Zac: Act 2 post. Vanessa's entry will be coming later today, assuming I get all my ducks in a row. And- spoiler alert- it's a doozy.

A couple of quick notes:

1) Zac may be hosting SNL on April11... If we don't see Vanessa in the audience, I will eat my flip flops. Also, this gives creedence to our theory that this Zac kid just might make it. So looking forward to the inevitable HSM parody skit. I feel like Seth Meyers could do a good Ryan and Kristen Wigg could nail Sharpay. Make it happen!

2) I didn't realize "The Climb" was sung by Miley until I saw the commercial for her movie last night. Seriously, I thought it was a Hanson-type boy group. Now that I know it's her, I can hear it... but does anyone else think she sounds a bit pre-adolescent boyish? Especially in the verses?

The last curtain has dropped. The DVD is released. All 6 stars have declined to return for a fourth installment. It looks like HSM, as we know it, has come to an end. So as the Big Six take their bows, we wonder… is there a second act? Pasta and I have been exchanging e-mails on the subject and have put together our guide to prognosticating the future of the HSM stars. Over the next week or so, expect a post on each star with lovely graphics by Pasta and commentary from both of us.  Let’s look into the crystal ball, shall we?

I wish I could go back in time to the night of the meet and greet following the HSM concert in Vegas. It was a simpler time. Zanessa was just a well-founded rumor. Tizz had blond hair. Corbin didn't look like he might be leading poetry slams. MoCo just had coffee with us and shared secrets that made us squee.  And Lu still allowed himself to be photographed with his co-stars.   But that's not why I want to go back.

No, I want to go back because I would give anything to follow the little girls presenting homemade posters and baked goods to their favorite stars, lean across the table, and hand Tizz the following item:

 About a week ago, Pasta sent me an e-mail saying simply, "I really want to see this."

And the more I research it, the more I do too. Check the trailer just released by Fox:

Divas getting dramatic? Venereal disease? This looks like the HSM we only dreamed of!

This actually  looks like a hybrid of High School Musical, the little know 90210 parody Gross Pointe, and maybe a touch of Tina Fey's Mean Girls with a splash of Election. It's getting pretty positive buzz, and you would have to be living under a rock or in Canada to miss the multiple previews shown during American Idol.  According to the link Pasta sent me, it's also attracting actors seeking guest roles like a Jonas brother in a  Claire's Boutique.   And, according to an article in the LA Times, it's actually going to feature Top 40 songs like Rehab. Sounds like a winner!
